D.U.I. Enforcement Unit

D.U.I. Enforcement falls under the Uniform Support / H.A.W.K. Unit.  The D.U.I. officer is primarily charged with the detection, apprehension, and prosecution of all persons who choose to drink and drive.  The D.U.I. officer is also responsible for traffic safety enforcement and assisting the Patrol Division in their day to day duties.  The D.U.I. officer is also charged with the planning and implementation of increased traffic safety enforcement during the holiday travel periods, and occasions when there is an increased likelihood of having more D.U.I. offenders driving the streets and highways of Oxford.

D.U.I. Enforcement is very important to the Oxford Police Department and that is shown by the number of D.U.I. offenders that are arrested each year.
