At the Oxford Police Department, the investigators are sworn officers who are charged with the enforcement of all laws and ordinances whether local, state, or federal. The investigators are responsible for full investigation of all cases assigned whether criminal, background, or internal. They are responsible for making arrests, obtaining and executing search warrants, preparing cases for the Grand Jury, and subsequent prosecution. Investigators are also responsible for the full processing of crime scenes including securing, recording, collection, preservation, and maintenance of evidence in felony cases. From setting up hidden surveillance cameras to capture burglars to tracking down criminals in felony financial crimes, the detectives at Oxford Police Department are involved in a wide array of criminal investigations.
