Oxford Police Department

Patrol Division

The patrol division makes up the majority of the members of the department.  The Patrol Division is responsible for conducting routine patrol operation, answering emergency and non-emergency calls, working traffic accidents, and responding to calls for assistance.  The Patrol Division consists of four shifts.  Each shift works 12 hours at a time.  Shifts will work for 2 days, be off for 2 days, work for 3 days, be off for 2 days, work 2 days, then be off for 3 days.  This may seem like it can be very difficult to get used to, but it gives every officer in the Patrol Division two, three day weekends, off per month.
